Win2000 Failure during setup
Setting ACPI in CMOS wasn't exactly clear since the only choices were simple APM options - nothing that specifically said "ACPI - Enable". Is it possible that a dubious CPU could cause this install grief? Its a PII 300 but it shows up as a P133 during POST (and Sandra shows that it is putting out like a 133).

worst scenario would be if the older server was such old hardware as to not even be an ACPI type motherboard. Common Computer Problems and Possible Fixes
On my sata setup you can see the sata being added to the systems bios during post and the sata card polling for drives, if yours does'nt do that then my only thought is a motherboard failure or a irq/mem conflict. When I kept geting the error, even with acpi=off noapic nolapic on the boot command line, I tried the alt1 kernel (2.4.27-something), since I had never had problems with the 2.4 kernel and my USB.
